iPhone 14 needs to use the USB-C interface, can you still use the data cable in your hand?

Has everyone bought the iPhone 13, which was popular on the Internet some time ago?

There is a rule about Apple’s mobile phone revelations. Whenever a new generation of iPhone is released, the next generation’s revelations will be heard immediately. Judging from the just-released iPhone13, the overlap between the physical configuration and the news is as high as 80%.

According to the forecast of Apple analysts, the iPhone 14 Pro series is expected to cancel the "Bang-styled Screen" and use the digging screen. In addition, the main rear camera will be upgraded to 48 million, and the high refresh screen will cover more models.

What happened? This sounds even more popular than the iPhone 13? Let's look down together.

1. Cancel “Bang-styled Screen” and adopt digging design

Regardless of the configuration of the new phone, the "bangs" of the iPhone have always been the subject of hot discussion. So, in the five years from iPhone X to iPhone 13, why is Apple not willing to give up "Bang-styled Screen"? The answer is to have enough space to place the Face ID sensor, not just for a camera. However, it can be inferred from the description of the under-screen Face ID patent that Apple applied for, the iPhone 14 series is expected to adopt a hole-digging screen design. This means that Bang-styled Screen" will disappear completely, some components will be arranged under the screen, and Face ID will be placed at the bottom of the screen. According to analysts’ predictions, the use of perforated screens may appear in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, while the remaining models will continue to retain the "Bang-styled Screen" design.

2. Equipped with A16 processor, comprehensive hardware upgrade

In addition to "bangs", I believe everyone is most concerned about hardware upgrades. After many domestic mobile phones basically use high-brush as the standard configuration of mobile phones, the 60Hz refresh rate of iPhone is indeed not competitive enough.

It has been revealed that the iPhone 14 will be equipped with a 120Hz LTPO screen as standard for the entire system to achieve a comprehensive upgrade of the hardware. In addition, the iPhone 14 series will also be equipped with A16 processor, using 4nm process, performance is expected to increase by more than 20%. The big core is upgraded to Avalance, and the small core is upgraded to Blizzard, replacing the Firestorm and Icestorm combination of the previous generation chip. In terms of camera, it is reported that Apple is working on a larger aperture and equipped with a camera module with higher pixels. Its pixels will be upgraded from the current 1200W to 4800W.

3. iPhone SE 3 is coming, mini will exit the stage

The iPhone 14 series to be released next year is still four models, namely iPhone 14 (6.1 inches), iPhone 14 Max (6.7 inches), iPhone 14 Pro (6.1 inches) and iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7 inches). Among them, the iPhone 14 Max is a new basic model used to replace the iPhone 14 mini, and the iPhone mini series has officially withdrawn from the stage of history. However, users who like small-screen phones don’t have to feel sorry, iPhone SE3 may be released next spring, I believe it will become a more cost-effective existence than the mini series.

4. Cancel lightning and unify interface standards

I don’t know if you have noticed that even if you are using Apple’s "Family Bucket", the charging cable at home is still not universal. Mobile phones, tablets, smart watches... each product uses a different charging cable. The more electronic devices in the home, the more types of data cables are piled up. At this time, many people will sigh: It would be great if the charging cables of all devices were universal! This is not the case. The European Commission put forward a proposal on a "unified charging interface" a while ago.

Once the bill is passed, the charger interfaces of electronic devices in the European Union, such as smartphones, tablets, earphones and other devices, will be unified into USB-C (Type-C) interfaces. Now Apple is not happy, and responded to this: "Require strict supervision of only one charging interface will stifle rather than encourage innovation, but also hurt consumers in Europe and around the world." Although some iPads in recent years Pro, iPad Air and other products have also begun to use the USB-C interface,  as an "exclusive invention" of Apple, the Lightning interface has always been used on the iPhone.

In my opinion, even if the European Union's bill to unify the charging interface is passed, the iPhone 14 series will continue to use the Lighting interface with a high probability. However, when USB-C is slowly dominating the digital world, for users, different standard interfaces do reduce convenience. As the so-called “one data line is enough for daily use ”.It is also a good start for consumers.
